Postal Index Number, or PIN, or PIN Code, or sometimes called as Zip Code is the numbering system of the post office or post code system used by India Post. The Indian PIN code is 6 digits long. The first digit reflects the region, the second digit reflects the sub-region, the third reflects the sorting district, and the last three digits represent the post office code. India has nine PIN zones.
